Battered Fish in Honey Bagoong

Here’s a bar chow idea: bagoong battered fish! Whether you serve this at your next dinner party or summer getaway trip–this is another blockbuster recipe that everyone should make in their kitchens!

Tip: You can also use dory fish or other white fish like tilapia.

BATTERED FISH IN HONEY BAGOONG

Ingredients:
½ kg white fish fillet, cut into strips
2 tbsp Maggi Magic Sarap
1 cup soda water
1 pc egg
1 cup all-purpose flour
¼ cup rice flour
½ cup flour
oil for deep-frying

Honey Bagoong:
3 tbsp oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 thumb ginger, grated
3 tbsp bagoong
¼ cup fish stock
½ cup honey

Dip:
1 cup mayonnaise
1 clove garlic, grated
1 tbsp vinegar
1 tbsp pickle relish

Procedure:
1. Season your fish fillet with 1 tbsp of maggi magic sarap.
2. Combine soda water, egg, remaining magic sarap, and flour until you get a smooth batter.
3. Dredge each piece of fish in flour followed by batter then fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
4. Make the honey bagoong by sauteing garlic and ginger in hot oil. Add bagoong and honey. Simmer for 1 minute or until thick. Toss in fish or serve on the side.
