Catanduanes has a lot to offer as one of the most beautiful island destinations in the Philippines. Erwan Heussaff is visiting the underrated destination in Bicol to try the local cuisine and to get a bite of its more “exotic” delicacies like “Karakol” (local snails), “Kasili” (eels), and fried frogs.
Catanduanes is also known as the “Abaca Capital of the Philippines” and is responsible for about 30% of the country’s abaca supply and about 26% of global export! In this episode, we are treated by Lando Zeneta to a glimpse of how abaca is harvested and turned into one of the most beautiful raw materials in the country.
But before all that, we’re making a pitstop in Gubat, Sorsogon to ride some waves and get a taste of some of the biggest waves that we’ve seen on this channel. It’s gonna be exciting!
