Here’s a refreshing dessert idea: langka con hielo! We almost always have leftover langka at home and this was such a great way to serve it for meryenda. What’s your go-to iced dessert recipe?
CREAMY LANGKA CON YELO
Ingredients:
2 cups (320g) fresh ripe jackfruit, thinly sliced
1 ½ cups (360g) water
1 cup (200g) brown sugar
1 packet (250ml) Nestle All Purpose Cream
½ cup (156g) Nestle Condensada
2 cup (240g) crushed ice
Procedure:
1. Combine water and brown sugar in a saucepan until sugar dissolves.
2. Add sliced jackfruit. Cook over medium heat for 10-15 minutes until tender and the syrup thickens slightly. Remove and let it cool.
3. Beat cream for 3 minutes until soft peaks. Add condensada and beat for 1-2 minutes until combined.
4. In a tall glass, layer sweetened jackfruit at the bottom. Add crushed ice and add a layer of the creamy mixture. Repeat until the glass is filled to the top.
5. Top with more sweetened jackfruit and syrup. Serve immediately. Makes 2 tall glasses.
