Samar Food Crawl with Erwan Heussaff

Erwan Heussaff returns to Samar to explore the markets, roadside kitchens, and home cooks that shape the province’s food culture. Often overlooked in conversations about Filipino food and travel, Samar’s cooking tells a deeper story of place, history, and everyday life.

From kakanin made with upland rice to carabao soup, tamalos, seafood dishes, and home cooked humba, this journey moves through Catbalogan, Jiabong, and Villareal to show how Waraynon food is rooted in the sea, the land, and family kitchens. This is the first video in our Samar and Leyte series, so make sure you are subscribed to catch new episodes as they come out.
