Catanduanes is a beautiful island located in the Bicol region of the Philippines. It is mostly known as a surfing destination, but it is also a great spot to try unique Bicolano specialties. Amongst these delicacies are latik and tilmok, which are handmade fresh every day by Chef Impling’s Delicacies.
Latik is a sweet snack made with glutinous rice which is usually eaten on its own or served with sauce on the side. Tilmok, on the other hand, is a savory snack that is made with freshwater shrimps and aromatics. Both heirloom recipes are made by the Mendoza family in Virac and have been a nostalgic treat for Catandunganons for over 25 years now.
